Part of the Hourouf Collection, a collaboration between Jihan C and Atelier de Ray, this long open abaya transforms letters into wearable art.
Crafted from crepe fabric, the abaya features Arabic and Phoenician-inspired letters embroidered using a combination of hand and machine techniques. Phoenician silhouette motifs adorn the peripheries with sea waves and horse motifs, while the back features the two Phoenician Silhouettes, inspired by Jihan C’s TEDx talk, We All Speak the Same Beginning.
The artwork celebrates the journey of letters across civilizations and the connection between ancient heritage and contemporary identity.
Each abaya is individually handcrafted in Lebanon with love, giving every piece its own character.
